Open Doors: Host Homes
What is a Host Home?
Host Homes are an essential component of our Open Doors program. Host Homes, also known as interim familes, provide a safe, temporary place to stay for teens and youth who are at risk of running away from home, or are currently without shelter. We are currently seeking individuals who are interested in becoming a Host Home!
Family and Children’s Service of Ithaca announced Open Doors, a Runaway and Homeless Youth program for Tompkins County early in 2015. Open Doors provides services to youth up to age 21, and their families, who have run away or are at-risk of running away and are interested in reunifying with family. Pending certification from OCFS, you too can become a volunteer Host Home! Contact us for more information! Or check out our Host Home Manual for more information!
