Planned Giving: A Gift for our Community’s Future

Whether you make a bequest to Family & Children’s Service of Ithaca, set up an income-generating gift like a charitable remainder trust, or name the agency as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement plan, your generosity and foresight will have a positive and lasting impact on the lives of many thousands of community members for generations to come.

Where There is a Will There is a Way

Making a will is an opportunity to ensure that your loved ones are provided for. It’s also a chance to remember the causes that have mattered to you during your life with a bequest to an organization like Family & Children’s Service of Ithaca. This can be accomplished either by specifying that a percentage of your estate or an exact dollar amount go to us. If you already have a will, it is easy to add a codicil naming Family & Children’s Service of Ithaca as a beneficiary.

The Ruth R. Pettengill Society

The Ruth R. Pettengill Society recognizes individuals who have remembered or made arrangements to remember Family & Children's Service of Ithaca in their estate plans with a legacy gift. Such gifts can be made through bequests, charitable remainder trusts, life insurance policies, pensions, and other planned giving methods. Ruth Pettengill served as the agency's Executive Director for twenty-one years until her retirement in 1972.
