 Runaway and Homeless Youth Worker (Full Time)


General Summary:
The Runaway and Homeless Youth Worker provides crisis intervention, case management, and counseling to youth and their families that are runaway, homeless, or at risk: including developing, implementing and monitoring individual service plans, responding to families in crisis on a rotational on-call basis, developing group programming, and participating in programmatic events. 
 
Qualifications:    
The Runaway and Homeless Youth Worker should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Service related field or comparable education and experience working with vulnerable populations.  The ideal candidate should also demonstrate familiarity with community youth services, the juvenile justice system, and knowledge about the needs for the social and emotional growth of youth.  Additional knowledge about the needs of LGBTQ youth, youth with significant mental health needs, and abused and exploited youth is helpful.  The ability to work well independently and on a team, to collaborate well with other organizations, advisory groups, staff and the public is a requirement. A valid driver’s license and car are required for this position. The ability to operate a computer and other general office equipment is required.

  Staff Writer (Part-Time 25-30 hours)

General Summary: The Staff Writer is primarily responsible to research potential funding sources that align with the mission of the organization; develop and write grant proposals to foundations, government entities, corporations and other grant-making organizations; will persuasively communicate the F&CS mission and programs to potential funders to successfully meet fundraising goals and objectives of F&CS. The Staff Writer is also responsible for writing content for the agency newsletter(s), annual report and all external communications, social media posts and E-blasts.

 
Qualifications: The Staff Writer must possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years of related grant writing experience, non-profit fundraising or corporate relations experience. The staff writer must have excellent personal, written and oral communication skills; establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with foundation contacts and program officers. The staff writer must have project management abilities; be deadline driven, have excellent attention to detail and follow through; prioritize multiple projects, and manage supplemental material required for proposals. The staff writer must have strong computer literacy; seek and synthesize information on prospect research and communicate in a compelling and succinct narrative. The staff writer must have excellent writing with meticulous grammar and spelling; analytical and research skills required; provide writing support for major donor and individual contributions correspondence. The staff writer must have demonstrated experience managing volunteers, working with an executive board, planning fund-raising campaigns and promoting the organization through public relations work.

 Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Hours, negotiable)

General Summary: Family & Children’s Service seeks a dedicated child, adolescent and/or  adult Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team.  Our psychiatric team works collaboratively with our clinical staff to provide high-quality, confidential, and affordable mental health care in a welcoming and caring atmosphere to children, adolescence, students, families and older adults.  Our outpatient clinic is licensed by the NY State Office of Mental Health and is National Health Service Corps (NHSC) certified.

 
Qualifications: The Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner must be a skilled practitioner who enjoys working in a community mental health setting and has experience treating a broad range of mental health diagnoses. The Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner must be licensed in New York State and have prior experience assessing, diagnosing and prescribing treatment to patients.

 Child and Adolescent Clinician (Full Time)

General Summary: Clinicians provide high-quality, confidential, and affordable counseling services in a welcoming and caring atmosphere for children, preschool age through adolescence, and their families. They address a wide range of emotional, behavioral and/or relationship problems. Our outpatient clinic is licensed by the NY State Office of Mental Health and is National Health Service Corps (NHSC) certified.

 
Qualifications: The clinician must possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related mental health discipline that included a clinical field placement with supervision. The clinician must be eligible for a New York State license.  The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, adolescents and their families as well as 2 plus years of post-graduate experience.  The candidate must demonstrate an ability to build rapport with clientele who are diverse in their race, culture, religion, economic resources, sexual orientation, gender identity, and abilities.
